Texas Advocacy Project Announces Appointment of 8 New Board Members 

AUSTIN, TX, JANUARY 18, 2023 – Texas Advocacy Project (TAP) announced today the appointment of 8 new members to their growing Board of Directors, bringing the total number of members to 29. TAP’s Board of Directors enables the organization to carry out its mission, stop violence, and wrap clients with a holistic set of services to ensure a future free from abuse. 
 
“It is my great honor to welcome this outstanding ‘freshman class’ to the Board of Directors,” said Board Chair, Alison Watters. “These eight professionals bring invaluable skillsets and passion which will accelerate Texas Advocacy Project’s extraordinary growth trajectory. Together with our staff and supporters, we collectively feel energized and ready to create a lasting and even deeper impact than our founding board members could have imagined.” 
 
The 8 new members are comprised of industry leaders, movers, and shakers: 

  • Laura Broderick is the CMO of Abrigo, a US FinTech company based in Austin and Raleigh. Laura has over 20 years of marketing leadership experience helping companies grow demand, build their brands, and build customer loyalty. Prior to Abrigo, she served as CMO of Verb Inc. and in the same capacity at Hibu Inc.. Laura also served as Dell Inc.’s e-commerce executive director and is a former Bain Capital private equity associate. 
  • Amber Hausenfluck serves as a Senior Vice President of State Government Relations at McGuireWoods Consulting where she assists clients with traditional advocacy, lobbying, and government relations services in matters before the Texas Legislature and regulatory agencies. 
  • Kimberly Lasseter is an award-winning performer in her field with a high technical aptitude. She is well known as an enthusiastic and collaborative leader who is a four-time honoree of CRN’s prestigious Women of The Channel awards (2016, 2017, 2018, & 2019). CRN has also recognized Kimberly as one of the Top 25 Channel Sales Leaders. Kimberly is currently the Global Director of Partner Advantage Program & Strategy at Google. 
  • Lawrence Marchman is an experienced medical device professional with a history of driving millions of dollars in new revenue, accelerating market growth up to 300%, and building lucrative relationships with physicians and medical professionals. Lawrence directs account strategy, provides leadership to diverse sales teams, and has earned regional and national sales rankings and awards. Currently, Lawrence serves as BioTE’s South Texas Regional Manager.  
  • Lynelle McKay is an accomplished, passionate, and resilient c-suite executive, owner, and acting director of Austin Woman Publishing, Inc., a women’s empowerment company. She continues to help organizations as an independent consultant supporting clients from diverse industries. 
  • Lauren Parker is the Director of Leadership Societies at United Way of Metropolitan Dallas. Lauren has proven to be highly skilled in marketing communications, public relations, and events management. Prior to working with United Way, Lauren excelled as a Projects and Events Manager and a Senior Coordinator of Global Partnerships and Sponsors at Susan G. Komen for the Cure.  
  • Rebecca Potts is a results-driven, software and services business development executive with more than 25+ years success in expanding and managing client relationships. Rebecca is currently North American Head of Solution Partners at Google where she is responsible for establishing differentiation and revenue growth through C-Suite relationships at system integrator, reseller, venture capital, and private equity partners.  
  • Catalina Villegas, a native of Colombia and former tennis professional, brings strong experience in DE&I, and currently manages all the cultural engagement, career development and diverse recruiting initiatives for MLB. Prior to MLB, Catalina was LST Marketing’s VP of Multicultural Marketing. The scope of her work included sponsorship sales and consulting, digital marketing, and talent procurement specializing in retired and current Latino/a/x athletes and influencers.
