General Description: The Bilingual Intake Specialist is responsible for all client intake including: answering queued calls toll-free legal line, processing any other type of client intake, and assessing the nature of the case, screening for possible conflicts of interest, determining if each case is within program priorities, and referring clients to local resources the Project does not provide. Intake Specialist also answers main phone line roll over and routes calls accordingly.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Intake: The Bilingual Intake Specialist is responsible for all client intake including answering the legal line, assessing the nature of cases, screening for conflicts of interest, determining if cases are within program parameters, and referring clients to outside resources.
Administrative Functions: The Bilingual Intake Specialist assists the Chief Legal Officer with oversight of intake volunteers and referral attorneys, helps maintain the Project’s resource binder, answers the main phone line, and assists with other administrative duties as needed
Qualifications: Must be bilingual and fluent in Spanish. Skilled in client intake and interviewing. Must have basic computer skills and familiarity with database management and record keeping. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to provide information to callers in crisis and be able to help focus individuals in a compassionate and respectful manner. Experience with the legal system, domestic violence and / or sexual assault issues strongly preferred.
