Friends, On behalf of the board and staff of Texas Advocacy Project, I’d like to wish you a wonderful holiday season. This time of year is always bitter sweet for us here at the Project, because we know from experience that there is an increase in family violence during the holidays.
Coupled with the current climate of economic uncertainty, this holiday season will be particularly dangerous for thousands of Texas families struggling with domestic abuse.
During this time of celebration and hope, we ask that you keep these families in your thoughts. The good news is that it is easier than you probably think to make a difference in the lives of these families. For as little as $20, you can provide significant and meaningful support for those struggling to find safety and security for their loved ones.
Research shows that legal services are the most efficient way to break the cycle of violence, and together we will affect the lives of nearly 20,000 Texans with these services in 2009. With your help, we can end domestic violence in Texas and accomplish our vision of making sure that no Texas child ever has to see one parent hurting the other. Please know that we are grateful for your support; we could not accomplish our critical work without you.
