Dear Friends, My name is Candace Lambert. I am a survivor of domestic violence. As I look forward to spending a peaceful holiday season with my family, I cannot help but reflect on the challenges that have brought me here and the help that I received in my journey from "victim" to "survivor". Thanks to the services I received at Texas Advocacy Project, my children will go to bed on Christmas Eve in eager anticipation of the wonders of Christmas morning. They will awake in a house without fear. We owe that to the attorneys who helped us. In fact, we owe our lives to Texas Advocacy Project.
You see, the skilled and compassionate lawyers at the Project not only taught me how to keep me and my children safe, but they provided me with the long-term solutions (the legal solutions) to stop the violence. Because I want this life-saving service to be available to other people living in fear, I am joining the Project's Holiday Fundraising Drive by asking you to "pass the spark". It all begins with your response to this email.
By clicking on this link and making a $10 donation to the Project, you've taken the first step. The next step is to share this message by forwarding this email to five of your friends. $10 might not seem like a lot, but that's where the magic comes in.
Imagine if you sent this email to five friends who did the same.
You can see how quickly one spark can ignite a powerful flame. Your generosity and your willingness to "pass the spark" will ensure that hundreds of Texas families, like mine, will be able to celebrate the holidays in peace and safety.
I know my family can't afford to take that for granted.
I don't believe any of us can. In 2008, as the Project enters its second quarter-century of service, we will help nearly 30,000 Texans break the cycle of violence in their lives. Please help make sure this legacy of safety, strength and independence will last at least another quarter-century. Donate today, and Pass the Spark. Sincerely, Candace Lambert Texas Advocacy Project Board Member
