A Time of Thanks Albert Schweitzer once said, "At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person.
Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us." This Thanksgiving, we ask you to pass the spark of gratitude by supporting the programs of Texas Advocacy Project The Project's work will affect the lives of more than 25,000 Texans this year; each of them will have a special reason to be grateful, a new and poignant dynamic to a time of year that has often been filled with sadness, fear and anxiety. By lending your support, you can bring gratitude into the life of a Texas family like this one: "I'm grateful that my family now has a bright future ahead, and that we can really celebrate the holidays without the fear and anxiety of the past. We owe that to Texas Advocacy Project" Click http://www.texasadvocacyproject.org/ to make a tax deductible end-of-the-year donation to Texas Advocacy Project. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours from all of us here at the Project. Join Us for a Merry Shindig ‘Tis the Season to gather with old friends, make new ones and satisfy your holiday sweet tooth. You are cordially invited to join the Project's Board of Directors and Staff for a holiday open house on Thursday, November 29 from 5:30 p.m.
to 7:30 p.m. Come be the judges of the First Annual Project Staff Cookie Bake Off, listen to holiday carols provided by Mt.
Zion Baptist Church and share the joy of the season with us. For directions and to RSVP, please contact Heath at hriddles@texasadvocacyproject.org or 512-225-9594. Black and White Ball The fourth annual fall gala, newly christened the Black and White Ball was another huge success! The evening was presented by Accenture, with Senator Kirk Watson as honorary chair.
The Lucky Strikes played while Walt Roberts joined the Senator on stage to wow the crowd during the auction.
The end result? An outrageously successful and fabulous evening of fun.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, along with a community of corporate citizens such as Allstate Insurance Company, Verizon Wireless, David Yurman , Tiffany & Co., and Neiman Marcus Last Call, we have set a new standard for success. Thanks also to all of the volunteers who helped to make the evening so magical, as well as all of our in-kind donors, including Melito-Kagan, Capital Printing and TRIBEZA. A special note of gratitude to Joe Dimaggio's at the Domain for hosting a beautiful reception in honor the Black and White Ball production committee. Black and White Ball co-chairs this year are Julia McCurley and Leah Clark.
