Texas Advocacy Project (formerly Women's Advocacy Project) provides free legal services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault across the State of Texas.
Access to legal service is the only social service shown to actually decrease the incidence of domestic violence.
The continued health and strength of the Project ensures that no domestic violence victim in Texas will have to face it without legal representation.
Project Staffer Honored for Commitment to Domestic Violence Survivors One of our very own dedicated senior staffers was recently honored with the Ellen Halbert Award for Victims' Rights by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
D'an Anders was recognized in a ceremony this week, attended by Texas First Lady Anita Perry.
The award was given for outstanding achievement in service to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
D'an provides technical advocacy and support to victims throughout Texas.
The ceremony was attended by victims, fellow advocates, law enforcement and government representatives. The Project staff and Board of Directors would like to join the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in saluting D'an Anders for her commitment and tireless work in pursuit of ending domestic violence in Texas.
